Tushaar Agrawal
Tushaar Agrawal is the Chief Franchise Officer at Marriott International, Inc. In this role, Tushaar oversees Marriott’s U.S. franchising efforts for more than 5,000 open Full Service and Marriott Select Brands (MSB) hotels.
Tushaar most recently served as the SVP of U.S. MSB Franchising for Marriott International. In this role, Tushaar oversaw the company’s U.S. Select Brand Franchising Organization deployed across 12 brands and over 4,000 Select Brand hotels in the U.S.
In both his current and previous role, Tushaar’s team collaborates closely with all discipline partners to ensure that hotel products and services are designed to succeed within our franchise operating model, and that this model continues to provide a valuable return on investment to our franchise partners. This includes focus on driving topline revenue through utilization of Marriott’s distribution channels, championing guest experience and driving profitability.
Prior to his roles in Franchising, Tushaar serves as General Manager of the JW Marriott Washington, DC. He was responsible for all aspects of the 777-room hotel through what was arguably on of the most challenging times in history. The hotel remained open throughout the pandemic and his team exceeded budgeted revenue, EBITDA, Guest and Associate satisfaction goals. His focus on sustainability earned the hotel the SEP 50001 Platinum certification and one of four companies worldwide to win Clean Energy Ministerial Award in 2021. Additionally, he earned recognition from the Global Safety and Security team for his efforts to keep the hotel and guests safe.
Previously, Tushaar served as Hotel Manager at the 2,000-room Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. He was responsible for all operations throughout the hotel, including 500K square feet of meeting space and seven Food & Beverage outlets.
In addition to his property roles, Tushaar brings over 10 years of experience in Owner and Franchise Services, having served in several roles as Vice President in Marriott’s Asset Management organization. In addition, he also served as Vice President, Integration for the Marriott/Starwood merger. In his role, he was responsible for driving revenue and cost synergies to owners and franchisees.
Tushaar holds a Bachelor of Business Administration for University of Michigan, and a Masters of Business Administration, Finance and Management for the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at NYU University.
