Matt Knapp is Vice President of IT and Product at College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving, where he sets the strategic direction for the company’s IT systems and obsesses over improving the customer journey. He leads the organization’s two IT teams—support and development—overseeing everything from franchise-partner support, networking, and infrastructure to the customization of College HUNKS’ web-based scheduling platform, APIs, and proprietary mobile app.

Matt’s impact traces back to his start as an intern, when he became the company’s first IT hire and recognized how much room there was to modernize its off-the-shelf scheduling software. Working nights and weekends, he designed and developed a complete in-house replacement, which launched in September 2015 and gave the team mobile-friendly platforms and full control over scheduling. Since then, the IT team has grown significantly.

As a member of the planning committee for the IFA Emerging Franchisor Conference, Matt brings a builder’s perspective on how technology and client experience can power growth at scale.
