I earned my accounting degree from the University of Utah, followed by an MBA from Southern Utah University before beginning my career as an auditor at KPMG. During my time there, I worked on several large clients, including being part of a team that supported a client through its billion-dollar IPO, first annual audit as a public company, and SEC reporting process.
After leaving public accounting, I joined Embark Consulting, a firm made up primarily of former Big Four professionals, where I specialized in interim CFO work, accounting cleanups, operational restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions. That role gave me exposure to a wide range of businesses and complex situations, often stepping into companies during periods of transition or high growth to help bring structure and direction.
Alongside my consulting work, I also worked within my family office, where I developed a strong passion for entrepreneurship, investing, and business operations. Through that experience, Back Nine originally came across my desk as a potential investment opportunity, which eventually led to me joining the company full-time as CFO.
Since joining Back Nine, I’ve focused heavily on creating organizational structure, financial clarity, and operational direction as the company continues to scale. While finance and accounting are my core background, I’ve enjoyed contributing across many areas of the business to help build a stronger foundation and clearer path toward long-term growth. I’m especially proud of the progress we’ve made in bringing alignment, accountability, and strategic focus to the organization. Beyond my role at the corporate level, I’m also personally invested in the brand as a franchisee, currently developing multiple locations of my own. Back Nine is something I deeply believe in, and I’m incredibly passionate about both the company’s future and the role I get to play in helping shape it.
