Genevieve Custer Weeks is the founder and CEO of Tutu School, where she brings a lifelong love of ballet and storytelling to everything she does. From choreographing living room performances as a child to studying professionally at the School of Ballet Chicago, San Francisco Ballet School, American Ballet Theatre, and The Kennedy Center, Genevieve’s early journey as a dancer was rooted in joy, discipline, and deep artistic curiosity. After dancing professionally for many years, Genevieve imagined a new kind of ballet school—one designed especially for the youngest dancers, where imagination would take center stage. In 2008, that dream became a reality with the very first Tutu School in San Francisco.

Since then, Tutu School has grown into a collection of over 150 boutique ballet studios across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Genevieve stepped away from the stage in 2012 to focus on nurturing Tutu School’s growth and began franchising the concept in 2013. Today, she continues to guide the brand’s creative vision while mentoring other founders and championing the importance of early childhood creativity.

Currently based in Chicago, Genevieve balances her life as a founder, leader, wife, and mom of three, still dreaming big and working hard to make space for more magic, movement, and meaning in the lives of children everywhere.
