Three Franchises Demonstrating the Holiday Spirit of Giving
As the 2021 holiday season approaches, many franchises are stepping up to give back to those in need during a time when they could be taking time off. At IFA we’re proud of the hard work many of our member franchises continue to put in to support their communities, and in this blog we’d like to celebrate and showcase those who embody the giving spirit this holiday season.
One franchise in the frozen treat game is showing the giving spirit this season. Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers donated $15,000 to the Kids in Need Foundation as part of the franchise’s annual National Frozen Custard Day initiative. The Kids in Need Foundation provides at-need children enrolled in free or reduced cost lunch programs with school supplies in order to support these children in their studies. Freddy’s National Frozen Custard Day initiative lets customers purchase a cone, cookie, or dish for $1 and donate 50 cents of the proceeds to Kids in Need. The franchise has run its initiative since 2016, raising a total of $55,000 for the Kids in Need Foundation to date. WOWorks, the parent franchisor of the four franchises Saladworks, Frutta Bowls, Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh and The Simple Greek, has gotten into the holiday spirit by partnering with No Kid Hungry to provide up to four million meals for children in need. As part of WOWorks High Five Challenge, customers who dine at or cater with any of the four WOWorks franchise brands can help make a difference in a child's life by making a donation of 5, 10 and 25 dollars. Recently, Taco John’s donated $10,000 to the Friday Food Bag Foundation, a Wyoming-based organization that provides nutritious food to prevent child hunger. Taco Johns also supports the nonprofit group Grace For 2 Brothers, a suicide prevention organization. The franchise has raised $50,000 from its corporate and customer donations to support the prevention of suicide. To learn more about a franchise opportunity with Taco Johns, click here.
