Every year, the International Franchise Association publishes a comprehensive report highlighting the economic impact franchising has on the US economy. Our data for 2017 showed that there are 733,000 franchise establishments that support nearly 7.6 million jobs, $674.3 billion of economic output for the U.S. economy, and 2.5 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

In California alone, there are an incredible 76,000 franchises. Meaning that California alone makes up for nearly 10% of franchisees nationwide making it a great place to start a franchise! California franchising supports nearly 729,000 jobs, $69.4 billion of California’a economic output, and $43.9 billion of their Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
