Comfortably Smug is a graduate of North Carolina State University and began his career in finance working at a hedge fund with $5 billion AUM.  He then transitioned to a career in politics managing city council, state level, and congressional races in New York before being appointed to the New York City Board of Elections where he was tasked with ensuring legal compliance at every poll site in Manhattan.  Today he is the owner of Smug Industries, LLC where he advises companies and political organizations on messaging and strategy. He is also a co-host of “Ruthless,” a top political podcast that launched in 2020.
