The International Franchise Association (IFA) is seeking a skilled and strategic Marketing Writer to craft compelling, results-oriented messaging that drives member engagement, event attendance, education purchases, and overall revenue growth. This role combines creative writing with marketing strategy, turning value propositions into persuasive stories and clear calls to action.

About the Role
The Marketing Writer, reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, develops and delivers high-impact copy across all IFA marketing channels to convey the value of membership, events, education programs, and advertising. This role sits at the center of the marketing team’s mission: to generate measurable results that grow revenue, membership, and engagement — not just awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop clear, concise, and compelling marketing copy for campaigns promoting IFA membership, events, education, programs, new initiatives and sponsored products.
  • Collaborate with marketing, membership, and product teams to articulate member value and translate strategic goals into persuasive messaging.
  • Refine IFA’s tone, language, and brand voice to connect with diverse audiences, from franchise executives to suppliers and franchisees.
  • Drive engagement and conversion by testing message formats and optimizing copy based on performance data.
  • Produce content for email, web, social, event landing pages, and advertising materials that clearly communicate ROI for members and partners.
  • Partner with creative and digital staff to ensure cohesive campaign execution across platforms.
  • Serve as an in-house messaging strategist, advising colleagues on how to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience writing marketing, promotional or advertising copy in a result-oriented environment.
  • Strong preference for franchising experience, understanding of the franchise business model, and the value a franchise brand seeks in IFA
  • Demonstrated ability to translate organizational value into clear, inspirational messaging that drives action.
  • Strong understanding of audience segmentation and conversion-based writing.
  • Proven success writing copy that supports measurable goals such as revenue growth, leads, or engagement.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience in membership associations, events marketing, or B2B environments preferred.
