Eggs Up Grill Now Open in Hampton, Bringing a Fresh Take on Breakfast to the Peninsula
Local husband-and-wife entrepreneurs Tony Sawyer and Brigitte Bartley Sawyer open first Virginia location, kicking off the couple’s plan to open 10 locations across the state.
HAMPTON, Va. – (Dec. 2, 2025) – Eggs Up Grill, a neighborhood favorite daytime café and the fastest-growing “better breakfast” restaurant franchise in the country, is now open in Hampton, Virginia. Located at 2170 Coliseum Drive, Suite 10, the new restaurant marks the brand’s first location in the state and the start of a 10-unit development agreement that will expand Eggs Up Grill across Virginia.
The new Eggs Up Grill is owned and operated by Tony Sawyer and Brigitte Bartley Sawyer, a husband-and-wife team whose experience spans decades in business leadership and people development. Tony is a seasoned entrepreneur who owns more than 40 Sport Clips locations, while Brigitte is a holistic health practitioner and retreat host known for building strong team culture and connection. Together, they bring a people-first philosophy to franchising, creating spaces where employees feel valued, guests feel at home and community connections thrive.
A Newport News native and Denbigh High School graduate, Tony Sawyer is returning to his hometown region after building a multi-state business career. The couple says their connection to Eggs Up Grill is both professional and personal, as they met in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where the brand was founded. For them, opening in Hampton represents a full-circle moment linking the place where their story began in Spartanburg to a new chapter of serving and building community in Virginia.
