Weed Man’s 2nd Annual Grassroots Giving Food Drive Unites 100 Local Franchises in Fight Against Food Insecurity

Orono, ON. – For the second year in a row, Weed Man rolled out their trucks and empowered franchisees to collect food from customers across North America.

The 2nd Annual Grassroots Giving was an overwhelming success as Team Weed Man collected more than 108,000 pounds of food for local food banks, equivalent to over 90,000 meals.

“We cannot thank our customers enough, and I want to give a special thank you to our franchisees for showing up for their communities.” said Jen Lemcke, CEO of Weed Man.

For the second year in a row, Weed Man mobilized their teams across North America to collect food donations from customers in their respective communities during their regularly scheduled lawn appointments.

“Over these last two years combined, the Weed Man network has collected more than 184,000 pounds of food across North America, which is over 150,000 meals. That is beyond incredible, and it only represents a fraction of the good work our franchisees are doing for their communities all year ‘round.” added Lemcke.

Local food banks across the US and Canada have expressed their gratitude and excitement to continue this partnership with Weed Man’s Grassroots Giving food drive.

“The impact of this donation goes far beyond the numbers. We are deeply grateful for Weed Man’s ongoing support and their commitment to standing with us in the fight against hunger,” said a representative from the Regina Food Bank in Regina, ON.

“We were so excited to receive this food today! Thanks so much for your support for our food pantry, especially as we see increased need in the community. We so appreciate all the work you put into coordinating this,” said a representative from Saint Vincent de Paul in Louisville, KY.

This is just the beginning for Grassroots Giving as Weed Man plans to come back next year with even more franchise participation and more ambitious giving goals.

“Our company was literally built one community and one franchise at a time,” added Lemcke. “And when these franchises pull together to help all their communities, the results are truly heartwarming to watch. I have never been prouder to be on Team Weed Man.”

About Weed Man

Weed Man became North America’s fastest-growing franchised lawn care provider based on the hard work of our locally-owned franchisees. We began with one man and one truck in 1970, and we’ve worked hard to keep that same level of individual attention for every customer. Over the years, we expanded our services and began franchising in 1976. You can now find our franchisees in more than 970 territories across North America, but we’ve never lost sight of the fact that every call starts with one truck, and one person talking to one customer.
