The report is based on a survey of more than 2,900 franchisees representing approximately 13,000 franchised establishments, along with an in-depth economic analysis comparing franchise and non-franchise businesses. According to the findings, franchising contributed $550 billion to U.S. GDP and supported 8.8 million jobs in 2024, with franchise employment growing faster than comparable sectors since 2021. The research also shows that franchised businesses tend to generate higher revenues, experience stronger survival rates, and offer faster wage growth and better retention for employees than non-franchised counterparts. Notably, wages at franchise businesses were found to be on par with similar non-franchise employers, while career mobility and benefits were often stronger. The report underscores franchising’s role as a Main Street business model, with most franchisees owning a single location, living and working in their local communities, and sourcing significantly from local suppliers. It also highlights franchising as a pathway to entrepreneurship—particularly for first-time business owners and people of color—and emphasizes its relevance for policymakers focused on jobs, economic growth, and worker outcomes, according to IFA Chief Advocacy Officer Michael Layman. 👉 Read the full article: https://www.franchisetimes.com/franchise_news/new-ifa-report-touts-value-of-franchise-model/article_5079f52f-51c9-4524-8eef-16f4e6a8cd62.html
