From Law to Luxury: Virginia Couple Turns Their Passion for Wellness into Spavia’s Newest Franchise
Owners to Bring Elevated, Affordable Self-Care to Richmond as the Brand Expands Across the Southeast
RICHMOND, Va. – Spavia Day Spa, the leading luxury day spa redefining personalized self-care, is expanding its footprint in Virginia with a new franchise agreement in Richmond. Expected to open in the second half of 2026, the new spa will deliver Spavia’s signature resort-inspired wellness experience to one of the state’s fastest-growing suburban markets.
The new location marks Spavia’s second in Virginia, introducing the brand’s elevated yet affordable approach to relaxation and result-driven care to the Richmond area, a thriving city known for its shopping, dining and family-friendly amenities. With more than 60-day spas now open nationwide, Spavia continues to grow through design-led development, thoughtful franchise expansion and its commitment to helping guests relax, recenter and renew.
The Richmond location will be owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Rajiv and Anjali Radia, first-time franchise owners who bring both business acumen and a shared passion for wellness. Both are practicing attorneys; Rajiv, who holds a finance degree and an MBA, began his career in commercial banking before transitioning into securities law, while Anjali, who also holds a master’s degree in public health, specializes in privacy law. Their shared belief in the importance of self-care and their firsthand appreciation for spa experiences made the decision to invest in Spavia a natural one.
“We wanted to invest in a brand that truly reflects our values, where self-care feels less like a luxury and more like a lifestyle,” said Anjali. “Spavia stood out because it makes wellness accessible without compromising quality and we’re planning to open more locations in the region over the next few years. The brand’s balance of elevated service and community care is what drew us in, and we’re thrilled to bring that experience to Richmond.”
The new spa will offer Spavia’s full menu of spa treatments, including result-driven facials, therapeutic massages, revitalizing body treatments, and waxing. Guests can expect access to a calming spa retreat, plush robes and sandals, warm aromatherapy neck pillows, and a rotating selection of exotic teas, all designed to help guests relax, recenter, and renew.
“Every new franchise partner strengthens the foundation of what we’re building — a nationwide community of spas that make wellness part of everyday life,” said Marty Langenderfer, CEO and Co-Founder of Spavia. “Rajiv and Anjali exemplify the caliber of entrepreneurs drawn to Spavia’s model and their decision to join our family reinforces the growing demand for accessible luxury and the strength of our franchise opportunity.”
As Spavia continues its national expansion, the brand is on track to reach 200 locations over the next decade. With 60-day spas currently open across 25 states, Spavia is targeting growth in key metropolitan areas, including Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, and throughout the East Coast.
