IFA Statement on White House Cybersecurity Executive Order

WASHINGTON, May 11—International Franchise Association Chief Legal Officer & Chief of Staff Elizabeth Taylor released the statement below following President Trump’s Executive Order on cybersecurity, calling it a positive step:

“We appreciate the President and his administration taking steps to address cybersecurity threats against public-sector IT infrastructure.  Cybersecurity threats are complex and multifaceted risks for government and businesses.  For franchise businesses, they create operational, reputational, and regulatory risks — each with their own potential impact.  We encourage Congress to work with the business community to mitigate cybersecurity risks.”
