IFA releases Labor Day statement ahead of holiday weekend
WASHINGTON, Sept. 1 – In light of the Labor Day holiday, IFA President & CEO Robert Cresanti, CFE, issued the below statement:
“I, along with the rest of the IFA want to wish everyone a happy and safe Labor Day. This holiday gives us the opportunity to reflect on the tireless efforts of workers across the country who have provided the foundation upon which America has built its success.
“As a business model that provides opportunity for millions, franchise operators and those they employ understand the dedication and hard work that goes into running a local business. The relationships and trust that are built in these communities are the result of a commitment to excellence and an engaged labor force.
“However, as we have seen time and again, as ever more regulators attempt to reconstruct labor policy, it is often the workers who are left picking up the pieces. While the labor force continues to rebuild from post-recession levels, it is imperative that policy makers collaborate with business owners to spur an environment with greater opportunity for American workers. In less than two weeks, that opportunity can be realized as hundreds of business owners flock to Capitol Hill for the IFA’s Franchise Action Network annual meeting. It is my hope that through the voice of America’s franchise small business owners and help from policy makers, more Americans can find employment opportunities in a more robust and growing economy, led by local franchise small businesses.”
