Ava Holt is an Assistant Professor at the School of Business & Industry and an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Public Health at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). With twenty years of experience in telecommunications, she co-owns HNH Technologies, Inc., specializing in computer network cabling, telecom equipment, and telephone systems.
Before joining FAMU in 2021, Ava was a Cancer Evaluator and Surveillance Manager for the Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program. She also worked as a Project Manager for SAIC, successfully delivering the $12M National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Stormwater Regulatory Program for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
Ava holds a doctorate in Public Health and a master’s in Environmental Health. Her research interests include community health improvement, climate and environmental justice, and cancer disparities.
Ava is a native of Johnson City, TN, but currently resides in Florida. Her three children, Sawyer, Terrence, and Victoria, and her husband of thirty-one years, Terrence, are her greatest joys. She enjoys traveling and practicing ways to support wellbeing.
