Franchisee Friday - Sport Clips
E.J. Gozur was introduced to Sport Clips by his father, and is now the owner of 21 locations. He uses his love of franchising to support his family, and is our #FranchiseeFriday!
When asked why he decided to move from a job as a grocery chain account manager to a franchise owner, E.J. said, “My father had always been an entrepreneur and owned a variety of businesses over the years. There were a lot of up and down years for him as an independent business owner. I saw that being in business by yourself is hard work.
When he sold his generator distribution company and started looking for his next venture in his late 40s, he was looking for stability above all else. He also did not want a high-inventory business, so the hair industry franchise appealed to him because it was consistent and fairly recession resistant.
At the time he signed on as an area developer, I was an account manager with a large grocery chain. It was good work, but it was boring. I wanted more. I saw my dad start to build this business and really enjoy it. I thought it was a great idea. My mom, Rosemary, and sister Ashley joined in making it a family business.
Now as multi-unit owner, as well as supporting the growth of many other team leaders, I tell others to listen to those who are where you want to be and be open to the ideas of those who have been there.
It is so rewarding to help someone who has made such a big commitment as a franchise investment, both monetarily and in time, to grow their business and reach their personal financial goals.”
