Grease Monkey Climbs Six Spots as One of the Nation’s Largest Automotive Franchising Platforms Builds on 2026 Momentum

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. — FullSpeed Automotive®, one of the nation’s largest franchisors and operators of automotive aftermarket repair facilities and home to flagship brands Grease Monkey® and SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service®, announced today that both brands have been named to the 2026 Franchise Times Top 400, an annual ranking of the largest U.S.-based franchise systems by global systemwide sales.

Grease Monkey ranked No. 171, climbing six spots from No. 177 in 2025. The brand recorded 5.4% sales growth and 8.2% unit growth in 2025, while SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service also earned a place on the list at No. 315.

“Sustainable franchise growth comes down to more than adding locations. Candidates should be looking at whether a brand is growing sales alongside its footprint, whether there is long-term demand for its services and whether the system has the infrastructure to support its franchisees as it scales,” said Don Helphrey, Vice President of Franchising for FullSpeed Automotive. “Having both Grease Monkey and SpeeDee represented among the country’s largest franchise brands speaks to the enduring strength of what we’re building with FullSpeed Automotive.”

The Franchise Times Top 400 is an exclusive annual ranking of the largest U.S.-based franchise systems by global systemwide sales. Backed by more than 25 years of research, the ranking is the result of a five-month research and reporting effort and provides sales and unit growth data used by existing and prospective franchisees to evaluate a brand’s health and by franchisors to benchmark against competitors.

The recognition comes as FullSpeed Automotive continues to advance franchise development across its portfolio. During the first half of 2026, the company signed 12 new franchise agreements, opened 11 locations, advanced 12 stores into construction and moved five additional locations into active real estate negotiations. Together, those milestones represented 40 locations across various stages of development, building on FullSpeed Automotive’s network of more than 900 franchised and company-owned locations nationwide.

“Experienced franchise candidates know to look beyond what a brand has accomplished and ask where it can go next,” continued Helphrey. “When you examine the existing whitespace in both brands alongside the recurring need for automotive maintenance, we believe there is a compelling runway for operators who want to grow with us for the long term.”

FullSpeed Automotive remains focused on strategic expansion across Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota and Texas, where population growth, vehicle ownership rates and sustained demand for automotive maintenance services create attractive opportunities for future development.
