Latest Signed Lease Reinforces the New Orleans Identity at the Heart of the Brand’s Nationwide Growth Strategy

NEW ORLEANS – PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans (PJ’s Coffee) recently announced that it will officially return to Maple Street, the historic Uptown corridor where the brand first began serving guests in 1978. Following a full interior renovation and exterior refresh, the café at 7700 Maple Street is expected to debut later this fall.

This symbolic homecoming builds on PJ’s broader goal to clarify what sets the brand apart, including distinctive, NOLA-inspired flavors and warm hospitality, while simultaneously bringing greater consistency to the guest experience across its 200 cafés. Elements like expanded signature flavors, curated café design elements and the addition of made-to-order beignets resulted in a 5.8% increase in total sales and a 7.3% lift in average check at pilot locations last year.

“Maple Street has always been integral to our brand story—it’s where our founder, Phyllis Jordan, got her start, what inspired our signature Maple Street Blend and where we first became part of the daily rhythm of the Big Easy,” said Ryan Stansbury, Executive Vice President of Franchise Development for PJ’s Coffee. “Our return serves as a powerful reminder that even as the brand grows, New Orleans remains at the center of everything we do. More than that, we’ve proven that staying connected to what sets us apart from other coffee chains makes a real difference on the unit-level economics of our franchisees.”

The nearly 1,700-square-foot location includes off-street parking, patio space and prominent corner frontage in one of the city’s most active neighborhood business districts. Positioned near Tulane and Loyola universities, the corridor draws a steady mix of residents, students and visitors. Upon opening, the Maple Street café will become PJ’s fifth Uptown location.

PJ’s Coffee continues to expand into key markets across the U.S. in 2026, with an emphasis on territories along the Eastern Seaboard, the Midwest and Texas. Ideal franchisees have strong business acumen and leadership skills, as well as a passion for delivering an exceptional coffee shop experience to their guests.
