FUN FACT:

National Donut Day was created in 1938 by the Salvation Army. This “holiday” was established in honor of female volunteers that provided donuts and other treats to soldiers during World War I. These volunteers were known as the “Donut Lassies,” and were a great morale boost to the troops. Since then, National Donut Day takes place the first Friday of June every year.
