IFA Adds Senior Publishing Manager to its Communications and Marketing Efforts

IFA ADDS SENIOR PUBLISHING MANAGER TO ITS COMMNICATIONS AND MARKETING EFFORTS


WASHINGTON, April 27, 2015 – The International Franchise Association announced today that Andrew Parker will join the organization as Senior Manager of Publishing within the Communications and Marketing department effective April 27.


“Andrew Parker’s extensive experience within professional publishing and his grasp of digital media will be a fantastic addition to our department and to the overall IFA team,” said Alisa Harrison, senior vice president of communications and marketing and chief of staff to the CEO.


In his role, Parker will work closely with staff and IFA members overseeing the editorial review and production of all IFA publications, with primary focus on the association’s monthly magazine Franchising World.


Parker has nearly 15 years of experience writing, editing and proofreading content for professional publications. Most recently, he served as the online editor for Vertical Magazine, the premier magazine for extensive, in-depth coverage of the civil helicopter industry in North America. Parker also contributed to the print version of the magazine, produced a daily newsletter and provided a weekly recap for Vertical Magazine’s social media.


Prior to his time at Vertical Magazine, he served as Editor-in-Chief of Rotor & Wing, where he held several earlier positions, including Managing Editor and Senior Editor. He has also served as News Editor at Professional Pilot Magazine and Managing Editor of Avionics Magazine and Aviation Maintenance Magazine. In addition, Parker worked for four years as a reporter for community newspapers in Reston, Herndon and Leesburg, Va.


Parker received a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Montana with a minor in Political Science.
