IFA LAUDS HOUSE FOR BILL TO BRING TAX CERTAINTY TO SMALL BUSINESSES


WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 13, 2015 – Robert Cresanti, Executive Vice President of Government Relations & Public Policy of the International Franchise Association (IFA), issued the following statement about passage today in the House of Representatives on H.R. 636, America’s Small Business Tax Relief Act, which would make permanent important tax policies that will give small businesses the certainty they need to grow:


“Franchisees are small, local independent business owners who work hard to succeed for themselves, families and their communities. The America’s Small Business Tax Relief Act, which was introduced by Rep. Pat Tiberi (R-Ohio) and was passed by the House today, provides the additional certainty these local entrepreneurs need to grow and plan for the future. The Tax Code is broken in many ways and needs a comprehensive overhaul. In the meantime – and until tax reform can bring real stability to the federal income tax – this bill would hold the line on the sometimes unpredictable changes in federal taxes that make such planning precarious. IFA commends the House for approving this important piece of legislation and we look forward to working with the Senate to pass it as well and send it to the President’s desk.”
