IFA RELEASES STATEMENT ON NLRB “AMBUSH” ELECTION RULE

WASHINGTON, Dec. 12, 2014—International Franchise Association President & CEO Steve Caldeira, CFE, released the following statement today in response to the National Labor Relations Board’s announcement of final rules that unfairly fast-track union elections:

“With this latest ruling, the National Labor Relations Board continues to push the agenda of labor unions by mandating that union elections be shortened to limit the free flow of information. Employers and workers deserve a fair democratic process that allows them to freely communicate their concerns before casting ballots. ‘Ambush’ elections allow labor unions to silence opponents and take advantage of those unfamiliar with the union election process. We are disappointed, yet not surprised, that the NLRB would endorse such a practice.”
