YOSHINO NAKAJIMA IS RECIPIENT OF IFA’S BONNY LEVINE AWARD
WASHINGTON, Oct. 24, 2014 – Yoshino Nakajima, Chief Development Officer of Home Instead Senior Care, is the recipient of the 2014 International Franchise Association’s Bonny LeVine Award. The formal presentation will occur during the association’s 55th Annual Convention, Feb. 15-18, 2015 in Las Vegas.
The IFA Bonny LeVine Award recognizes a female franchisor or franchisee who is a role model and mentor for women through their business and professional accomplishments within franchising and our entire society.
Throughout her career, Nakajima’s development of the Home Instead franchise network has created a unique opportunity for women desiring to become entrepreneurs. Of the 1,022 Home Instead franchise establishments across the globe, 415 of which are outside the U.S., 55 percent of the franchise owners are women. Nakajima leads by example and draws on her global business experience and personal successes to develop mentoring relationships with other women in her work and personal lives in several identifiable areas.
Nakajima facilitates practical coaching and personal development relationships for other women seeking to improve their skills and broaden their experience in franchising and business development, which has led her to personal engagement with women serving in private enterprise, government and non-government organizations. Through business success and personal integrity, Nakajima has become a magnet for many young girls looking for advice about future careers and life direction.
Nakajima, who joined Home Instead Senior Care in 1997, is seen as a role model for women aspiring to advance within the Home Instead franchise model by providing coaching and a listening ear for those seeking a work-life balance. Under her leadership, Nakajima has grown the network of global operations to annual revenue that now exceeds $228 million and continues to grow at double-digit rates. Her international efforts have expanded Home Instead Senior Care into 17 countries across the globe through the use of a master franchise approach. Nakajima also played a key role in the future development of the Home Instead network, which presently consists of 993 offices worldwide, of which more than 380 are located outside the U.S.
Nakajima has served on the IFA International Affairs Committee since 2004, including two years as the vice chairman and most recently as one of the founding members of the committee’s International Leadership Council. Nakajima is a regular participant and speaker at IFA conferences, including as a panelist at the International Bar Association and International Franchise Association Symposium.
