IFA HIGHLIGHTS IMPORTANCE OF FRANCHISING DURING SBA NATIONAL SMALL BUSINESS WEEK
WASHINGTON, May 12, 2014 — The International Franchise Association kicked off National Small Business Week today by highlighting the importance of franchising as a path to small business entrepreneurship and ownership. The annual event hosted by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) recognizes the nation’s top small businesses and small business advocates. This year 40 non-profit and community partners, including the IFA, have teamed up with the SBA to highlight the importance of small business and small business lending in America.
“The IFA is once again a proud sponsor of National Small Business Week, helping to showcase franchise small business growth, which continues to outpace growth of non-franchised businesses across the country,” said IFA President & CEO Steve Caldeira, CFE. “IFA, along with other business groups is committed to working together to educate lawmakers on the increasing importance of franchising and small businesses to the American economy.”
The event will continue through May 16 with activities in San Francisco, Kansas City, Boston and Washington D.C. Activities in all four cities will feature national level speakers, workshops, expert panels on a variety of entrepreneurial topics, and business matchmaking opportunities.
