IFA APPLAUDS BIPARTISAN BUDGET DEAL; CALLS FOR PRO-GROWTH AGENDA
WASHINGTON, Dec. 11, 2013—International Franchise Association President & CEO Steve Caldeira issued the following statement today regarding the Budget Conference agreement reached by Senate Budget Committee Chairman Patty Murray (D-WA) and House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI): “We applaud Budget Committee Chairs Patty Murray and Paul Ryan for coming to terms on a deal that will hopefully allow Congress to turn its attention to pro-growth solutions that can help America’s 825,000 franchise small business owners thrive over the long haul.
“With a return to regular order in the appropriations and budget process, we are hopeful Congress can put aside partisan differences and consider issues such as comprehensive immigration reform and tax reform, as well as address some of the immediate threats franchises face in the current regulatory environment, particularly the negative impact of the 30-hour definition of a full-time worker in the Affordable Care Act.”
