A Corps of Volunteers will Kick-off the Convention with a Day of Community Service
in Orlando




 




WASHINGTON, Aug. 11, 2011 – Recognizing the year-round community service initiatives of its members, the International Franchise Association will hold an inaugural Franchising Gives Back event ahead of its 52
ndAnnual Convention, Feb. 10, 2012, in Orlando, Fla.
 


 




IFA’s Franchising Gives Back is designed to highlight the strong commitment and impact of franchising on local communities to build vibrant communities through both local economic activity and support for local organizations. The day-long event will bring a corps of convention attendees to a site in Orlando to perform community service for a local cause, followed by an evening celebration to recognize the community initiatives of members. Approximately 3,000 attendees are expected in Orlando for IFA’s annual convention. 


 




“The franchise industry has a long history of giving back to the local communities that support the over 825,000 franchise businesses across the country,” said IFA President and CEO Steve Caldeira. “We hope to make this an annual event to reinforce our strong commitment and appreciation for the local support our members receive, and to recognize those members whose charitable initiatives have a positive and lasting impact on their communities.” 


 




IFA’s Franchising Gives Back event will also include an awards presentation to IFA member franchisors, franchisees and suppliers for outstanding year-round community contributions. 











IFA’s 52
ndAnnual Convention will be held February 11-14, 2012, at Marriott World Center in Orlando, FL. Franchise business professionals will gather at the premier franchise industry conference dedicated to excellence, education and relationship building. Early bird registration is now open to IFA members.
