Regarding
IMMIGRATION REFORM
March 19, 2010
“For several years, the International Franchise Association (IFA) has supported efforts for a comprehensive solution to our broken immigration laws. That is why we are encouraged that Sens. Schumer (D-NY) and Graham (R-SC) are working toward introduction of bi-partisan legislation that will reform our immigration laws and we appreciate the support of the White House as the reform process begins.
“Franchised businesses generate economic opportunity and jobs in every local community across the United States. As employers, franchised business leaders need immigration solutions that enforce the law without burdening workplaces, secures the borders and addresses the millions of unauthorized workers currently living in the country. As the economy begins to recover, businesses will need a legislative solution that paves the way for workers to enter the country legally as job demand grows.
“The IFA stands ready to contribute to the development of a comprehensive solution to our immigration laws. We look forward to constructive discussions with Sens. Schumer and Graham as well as additional champions of immigration reform in Congress and the Administration.”
