TORONTO- Tutor Doctor, the leader in one-to-one private tutoring, recently held its annual conference where franchisees representing 700 units across 16 countries joined together to celebrate the success of the brand while outlining plans for future growth and performance. During the Dream. Believe. Achieve. Conference, Tutor Doctor honored four franchisees from North America as recipients of its Global Awards. The award-winning franchisees were recognized for their success in customer service, top performance in the first year of operation, core value representation and leading marketing and brand innovation.
The conference was held virtually for the first time, and boasted 215 attendees, 21 guest speakers and 63 networking roundtables – a remarkable turnout to reflect on the achievements of the past year and the future direction of the Tutor Doctor brand. Last year presented the world its challenges, but Tutor Doctor’s resiliency and ability to innovate has allowed it to remain steadfast and focus on growth and performance. This year, Tutor Doctor has grown from a development and sales standpoint by prioritizing a people-focused approach to business. By doing so, the brand has been able to reach more students and more communities with quality, in-home and online tutoring services. As a result, Tutor Doctor’s Q2 system-wide-sales were up 90 percent, quarter-over-year. These achievements are in large part because of the incredible network of franchisees who are committed to the continued success of the brand.
Kicking off the North America winners was Nicelle DePatie in Calgary, Canada, who was awarded the Customer Service Award, celebrating her excellence in customer care and loyalty. This award is presented to the franchisee who has achieved a Net Promoter Score in their customer feedback survey of at least 80 or higher.
Franchisee duo Veronyk Zinn and Tiffanie Cormier in Sudbury, Canada were awarded the Spirit Award, highlighted as individuals who live and breathe the Tutor Doctor spirit. Zinn and Cormier demonstrate brand spirit through their commitment, loyalty and passion in dealing with customers, tutors and fellow franchisees. This award is given to franchisees whose impact is felt both in the Tutor Doctor community and within the local community they serve.
Tutor Doctor’s Marketing Innovation Award was given to Kimberly Selchan in Phoenix, Arizona in recognition of her innovation in finding new ways to generate leads and get the word out about her Tutor Doctor business. This award is given to recipient who makes the most out of each new initiative and consistently demonstrates a willingness to share his/her ideas and campaigns with others in the Tutor Doctor community.
The final North America award-winner was Jamie Lee in Tampa, Florida, owner of two Tutor Doctor franchises and winner of the prestigious Rookie of the Year Award. This award recognizes the best new player on the Tutor Doctor team. A rookie is defined as a franchisee with less than 18 months in the business ending Dec 31, 2020, and who embodies the Tutor Doctor spirit and values. Lee’s franchises grew from serving zero to 115 families in her first 10 months of ownership, showcasing growth and success in ownership.
