IFA Foundation Announces Recipients of the Arthur Karp Research Award and CFE Scholarships

 

WASHINGTON, Feb. 22 - The IFA Foundation has given the Arthur Karp Research Award to two individuals. Marko Grünhagen, Ph.D., professor of Marketing & Lumpkin Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship at Eastern Illinois University’s Lumpkin College of Business & Applied Sciences, and Dr. Manuel González-Díaz, professor of Organizational Economics School of Economics and Business at the University of Oviedo in Spain, received the award. The Karp Award was established in honor of the IFA Foundation’s first Chairman, Arthur Karp, who was Chairman of the Great American Cookie Company. The award honors outstanding academic achievement in the form of applied research in franchising.

 

The Foundation has also granted the Irl Marshall Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) Scholarship to Heather Todd, Franchise Consultant with the Mr. Electric division of the Dwyer Group. The scholarship awards $2,500 to a student enrolled in the CFE program, and the money can be applied toward tuition costs for programs offered by ICFE.

 

Natalie Nguyen, Franchise Recruitment Coordinator for Outdoor Living Brands was awarded the Gray Plant Mooty CFE Scholarship. This scholarship, generously funded by the Gray Plant Mooty Foundation, supports talented recipients, primarily from emerging franchisors, in their pursuit of professional education.
