IFA CALLS ON SENATORS TO CONFIRM GORSUCH TO SUPREME COURT
WASHINGTON, March 30—International Franchise Association, the world’s oldest and largest organization representing America’s 730,000 franchise businesses which support more than 7.6 million jobs, called on Senators to rise above political rancor and confirm Neil Gorsuch to the United States Supreme Court.
“While local franchise business owners have outpaced employment in all businesses for the last six years, with a clear path forward franchise small businesses could create even more opportunities and jobs in local communities,” IFA stated in a letter sent to U.S. Senators today. “Franchise leaders believes we need nine justices on the Supreme Court to ensure important decisions do not end in 4-4 split decisions.”
Franchise businesses are responsible for seventy-four percent of the jobs since the recession, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration. Yet, uncertainty in the law is particularly difficult for small businesses who do not have a team of lawyers or extensive staff to help them navigate the regulatory maze often created by government.
