IFA Applauds Senate Bill Reauthorizing Brand USA

WASHINGTON, July 18—As a member of the Visit US Coalition, the International Franchise Association applauded legislation that would reauthorize the funding for Brand USA, an organization tasked with marketing the U.S. as a travel destination to boost tourism revenue.

“Travelers to the U.S. are significant customers at the nearly 733,000 franchise businesses across America, including restaurants, hotels, and retail stores.” said IFA Senior Vice President of Government Relations & Public Affairs Matt Haller. “Boosting travel to the U.S. will help increase economic output in the $674 billion-dollar franchise industry. IFA thanks Senators Roy Blunt (R-MO), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Cory Gardner (R-CO) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) for their commitment to promote international travel to the U.S. to grow the economy and create jobs.”

The Visit U.S. Coalition represents a broad cross-section of industries that have come together to address the decline in international travelers to the U.S. and resulting cost to the U.S. economy and jobs. Created with strong bipartisan support in 2010, Brand USA operates at no cost to the taxpayer.
