McDonald’s Executive Named to Franchise Association Leadership Team

WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 10 – McDonald’s U.S. Vice Pres. of Franchising John A. Kujawa has been named to the International Franchise Association’s board of directors. He will assume his duties during the association’s 48th annual convention being conducted at the Marriott World Center in Orlando.
Founded nearly 50 years ago, IFA is the oldest and largest trade group that protects, enhances and promotes franchising across the globe. Its membership includes more than 1,300 franchise companies, more than 10,000 franchisees and 500 suppliers of products and services to the industry.
Kujawa started his career with McDonald’s in 1989 as a senior franchising attorney and has served in a number of other positions within the company prior to becoming U.S. vice president of franchising. In his role, he leads all of McDonald’s U.S. franchising efforts with more than 2,200 existing franchisees that currently operate more than 12,000 McDonald’s U.S. restaurants.
Kujawa has also served as an attorney with the Chicago law firm Chapman and Cutler, is a member of the Illinois bar and American Bar Association, IFA’s Legal/Legislative and Corporate Counsel Committees, and the steering committee for the National Franchise Mediation Program.
