Founded in 1983 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the IFA Foundation is building the future of franchising by investing in programs that put entrepreneurship within everyone’s reach. We believe that every entrepreneur, in every community, should have the opportunity to build their own version of the American Dream.
The IFA Foundation works in close partnership with the International Franchise Association, focusing on expanding access to franchising and supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs. Through strategic programming, research, and partnerships, we elevate the role franchising plays as one of the most effective and proven pathways to entrepreneurship.
Our work expands awareness of the franchising model, equips the industry with actionable insights, and prepares the next generation of business owners. From college students discovering franchising for the first time, to career changers and aspiring entrepreneurs, to experienced franchise owners seeking to grow and give back, we support individuals at every stage of the journey.
To make franchising more accessible, we meet entrepreneurs where they are. We take the time to understand their goals, and connect them to the resources, relationships, and pathways they need to succeed.
Through a holistic portfolio of initiatives, the IFA Foundation ensures that Main Street businesses continue to thrive, creating economic mobility, strengthening communities, and expanding opportunity across the United States.
