The most important event you'll attend all year to protect and strengthen your franchise business. Join us for our public awereness campaign...Franchise Appreciation Day (FAD). This year's event was a record breaking success with attendance of over 530 people, an increase of nearly 200 attendees over last year's number. Franchisors, franchisees and suppliers came to Washington, D.C. this September to help policymakers understand how their decisions affect the ability to operate a successful franchise business. They ensured that the trial lawyers, unions and bureaucrats would not have the last – or only – word with Members of Congress. First, attendees heard from lawmakers and policy experts. Then, they went to Capitol Hill and relayed their personal stories…and Members of Congress listened! Anyone on the Hill will tell you -- the weight of a constituent’s words is greater than the weight of any lobbyist. Members of Congress need to know the real-world affects of their lawmaking on you -- their constituents. In addition, we honored our 2007 Franchisees of the Year and enjoyed entertainment by well-known political satirists, The Capitol Steps. Plus, political columnist and Pulitzer prize-winner, George Will, shared his razor sharp insights about the state of Washington politics today. It was a power-packed program, one that energized attendees and got them excited to campaign with lawmakers on behalf of the entire franchising community. Mark your calendars now for our 2008 program, September 15-16, at the JW Marriott in downtown Washington. Hold your FAC or Franchisee Association meetings during FAD so your franchisees can meet with their Members of Congress and relay their personal stories about what is happening in their very own districts.
