Thank you for joining us, February 9-12, 2008, at the Marriott World Center in Orlando for the premier educational and networking event in franchising – IFA’s Annual Convention, “Building the Future Together.” This year's Annual Convention was a huge success and we appreciate your support! Franchising is growing and as the marketplace continues to evolve, it is your job as a savvy business executive to stay current on the latest strategies and best practices. Everyone wants to expand their brand, groom leaders for the future, and solidify franchising's role as a powerhouse in our global economy. Simply put, everyone wants to be successful whether you are new to franchising, a veteran to the industry, from a system with hundreds of units, or from a system with less than 50 units. Powell, USA (Ret), the 65th Secretary of State. We were thrilled to have General Powell join us to share his insights about leadership. Drawing on examples garnered from experience as both a leader on the world stage and as eyewitness to leadership in action, Gen. Powell illustrated precisely what it takes to be a leader, providing strategies for "taking charge" during times of great change and great crises. Gen. Powell demonstrated how to remain focused, take responsibility and work towards improving processes, organizations and people.
