In IFA surveys of its franchisor members, roughly 80 percent responded that they already do, are planning to begin or will accelerate international franchising, and that it is important to their company’s future.

John Kersh, Vice President, International Operations, BrightStar Care
John Kersh is Vice President, International Operations for BrightStar Care, a premium healthcare staffing company providing the full continuum of care, from homecare to supplemental staffing for corporate clients such as nursing homes and physicians.
John previously served as Vice President of International Franchise Development for Self Esteem Brands, the franchisor of healthy lifestyle brands Anytime Fitness and Waxing the City. Prior to joining Self-Esteem Brands in 2008, Kersh spent 3 years developing a start-up franchise in Brazil called Citrus Gym. From 1992 until 2004, Kersh was the Director of International Development for the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA). Kersh began his career in 1989 working in the hospitality industry as the Director of Convention Services for the Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau. Kersh has served as a member of the International Committee of the International Franchise Association, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Michigan State University.
Ned Lyerly, CFE President, International CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc.
Ned Lyerly was named President, International in Spring, 2014. As the company’s senior international executive, Lyerly leads the company’s international division and has been instrumental in its growth to 600+ restaurants in more than 30 countries. Prior to his current role, Lyerly was the company’s Executive Vice President of Global Franchise Development where he oversaw franchise development for the Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s brands in the United States and around the world. Over his 30 year career with CKE, Lyerly has held positions in many functional disciplines including: Senior Vice President International, Vice President International, Director - International Finance and Marketing, Director – Domestic Finance (Hardee’s Food Systems, Inc.), Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis (Imasco USA, Inc. / Hardee’s Food Systems, Inc.). Lyerly is a Certified Franchise Executive and Former Chair of the IFA’s International Committee.
