WHAT: West Coast Franchise Expo
More than 150 franchise systems will display their brands to prospective franchisees for three days during the West Coast Franchise Expo.  Open to the public and sponsored by the International Franchise Association and produced by MFV Expositions, the expo is designed to allow future owners to get a close-up look at a range of different franchises, meet with company representatives, attend “how to” seminars and gain closer insights into the growing world of franchising.

Veterans will be admitted without charge and invited to attend a free seminar “Franchising 101 for Veterans.”

WHO:  International Franchise Association
The International Franchise Association, the world’s oldest and largest organization representing franchising, is the preeminent voice and acknowledged leader for the industry worldwide. Approaching a half-century of service with a growing membership of more than 1,300 franchise systems, 10,000-plus franchisees and more than 500 firms that supply goods and services to the industry, IFA protects, enhances and promotes franchising by advancing the values of integrity, respect, trust, commitment to excellence, honesty and diversity. For more information, visit the IFA Web site at www.franchise.org.

WHY: Franchise ownership helps people get into business for themselves but not by themselves.  Franchising is a major contributor to the U.S. economy.  More than 900,000 franchised establishments operating in the United States indirectly produce 21 million jobs and contribute $2.3 trillion to the economy.  In California alone, there are close to 1 million establishments that indirectly provide nearly 2.3 million jobs and generate $285.8 billion in economic output.  For more information about the economic impact of franchising, visit www.buildingopportunity.com.
