Prospective franchisees, particularly minorities, women and veterans, will have opportunities to participate in community educational seminars that help address the information gaps impeding their paths for small-business ownership. The one-day seminars, scheduled to take place in more than 10 states, will include franchise company displays and appearances by franchise experts conducting sessions on fundamentals, legal issues and financing.
As the world’s largest trade group representing this business strategy, the International Franchise Association and its Educational Foundation’s Diversity Institute sponsors the one-day events in cooperation with the White House Urban Entrepreneur Partnership, the Congressional Black and Hispanic Caucuses, some local governments and other partners. Founded in 1960, IFA represents franchised small businesses spanning 80 different industries doing business in more than 100 countries.
